THREE YEARS!

I'm feeling so behind on blogging, I figured today is a good day to start back up again. Three years ago Max and I were married in The Salt Lake Temple! It was early, our sealing was at 7:20AM, sorry to everyone who had to wake up so early. I really wanted to get married on 08.08.08, so when I called the Temple in February to schedule the sealing, they were already super booked, 6:30AM, 7:20AM, 5PM or later was all that was left for the large sealing rooms. With all of Max's family in Utah and Idaho I knew we needed a large room. So I bit the bullet and took 7:20 AM.

My soon to be sister-in-law Jessica, best friend Kenna (both bridesmaids) and I slept at my soon to be sister and brother-in-law, Jen(my escort) and Brandon(a witness)'s house in Salt Lake. Kenna, Jessica and I woke up at 4 to start getting me ready, because Jen, Brandon and I had to be at the Temple two hours early!

I'm happy to say our married life has mellowed out! Our first two years of marriage was a bit like a roller coaster ride. In the last year we have settled into our house, done some landscaping of our backyard (we still have a long way to go). Max just recently got a promotion at work and is now an assistant manager and is on salary which will help in the winter months with work slows down. I've finished my second year of pharmacy school, two more to go! Really there isn't too much to say! We are happily plugin away at our little live together!

Happy Easter

We were blessed to have a special stake conference this Easter morning. Which meant church was only an hour and a half and we got to hear from the
President of the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple, President Shumway, and a
General Authority, Elder Claudio R. M. Costa Presidency of the Seventy.

Both of which gave excellent, Elder Costa was hilarious, making fun of his broken English. President Shumway gave the simple message that because though temple work we will be able to,one day, visit with family members who have pass again. Our stake choir sang a beautiful rendition of I Stand All Amazed, my favorite hymn. Best of all I was able to spend this special Easter conference with my whole family, the whole Hansen-Andersen clan, in the Albuquerque West Stake, took up a whole bench. I'm grateful to have my family so close. I'm grateful for Jesus Christ, my Savior, He has RISEN!

This was a few Sunday's ago! The same weekend I bought my camera. This is pretty much how our Sundays are:

1. I study, I study and then I study some more. This is me studying for med-chem.

2. Max watches movies/TV shows on Netflix, this is him watching The Sarah Conor Cronicles 3. Thunder and Lightning sit around hoping we will play with them, we usually do once I'm sick of studying

I've said it once and I'll say it again, the BEST time of the year in New Mexico is the Fall! The smell of green chilis roasting and hot air balloons fills the Albuquerque air. This was our fourth Balloon Fiesta and it will never get old. It is so amazing having all the balloons filling up and taking off all round.Aren't we a cute bunch

New Additions

We have made some additions to the Andersen home.
No, I'm not pregnant! But the second best thing...

1. We planted a tree, but not just any tree.

We planted a catalpa tree! I've wanted to plant a catalpa tree since the first time I saw them at them at the Salt Lake Temple.

2. Max got this GT 1.0 Avalanche Mountain Bike.

Ever since Max's broken leg, almost a year ago, Max has had a hard time being able to exercise. Minimal walking/hiking will cause his ankle to balloon up. Bike riding has been a good alternative exercise for him. Albuquerque has a lot of bike paths. We have enjoyed several rides along the Bosque (Rio Grande River).

3. I got a Nikon D3000!

I've wanted a new camera ever since I'm purse
got stolen(with my camera in it) a year and half ago.
So I figured go big or go home. I don't have much photography talent, but I love taking pictures!

4. Lastly we installed a fan in our living room

My parents bought us a fan as a house warming gift. For the last month our living room has been with out light, because the previous owners took it.
I'm currently sitting under it's glorious breeze, it was in the nineties today.

two year anniversary

It was Max and my two year anniversary last Sunday, August 8th. I think I'm supposed to say, "I can't believe it's been two years" but I'm not. Maybe it's because Max and I argue like we have been married longer, or that we dated for about 4 years before getting married but, I can't believe it's only been two years.

I love being married! I love having a companion that is fully devoted to me and I to him. I love having Max to come home to, especially on a particular stressful day. And I love being able to be there for Max when he needs me. Being married definitely easy. I think as soon as you say "I do" life comes at you full force, at least it did for Max and I. With each bump in road Max and I hold on even tighter to each other and get though it.

Enough with the mushy stuff, how did we celebrate? Last year we did absolutely NOTHING to celebrate our anniversary, so this year we decided to go somewhere nice, The Melting Pot! We invited my parents to join us to celebrate their anniversary (Aug 18th). We had a nice three hour meal with good company!

Yep its official this should be our house August 25 around 5pm! It's on the north westside of Albuquerque, about ten minutes from my parent's house.

I'll tell you, one in 1,103,697 of finding this can in a 12 pack of Diet Cherry Vanilla Pepsi

Max and I purchased the 12 pack on the 4th of July at the Smith's where I work. We very rarely buy soda, the ONLY reason we decided to buy so was because it was on sale, 4 for $9.
We didn't think much of it, I decided to try a new flavor for no apparent reason. Over the next two weeks I had a can here and there. Last Saturday Max and I bought a watermelon but didn't have enough room in the fridge. Max began cleaning out the fridge making room, in the process Max started emptying the last 7 cans in the pack. The first six cans fit in the refrigerator door, the seventh can Max placed on the shelf. The next morning I grabbed the milk for my cereal, I noticed the can on the shelf was red, unlike the other silver cans but I didn't think much of it and ate my breakfast. After church we made lasagna, salad and garlic bread. Max asked me what I wanted to drink, "Diet Pepsi" Max grabs the lone red can off the shelf.
"Wait a minute!" he says
"What?"
again, "Wait a minute!"
"What?" I asked as I urgently walked into the kitchen, Max shows me the can! I could not believe it, neither one of us realized we purchased a promotional pack. We were both shocked!
I guess our bad luck(most on my post are about the bad news Max and I have) may have turned around!

Drug Of The Day: METRONIDAZOLE

For those of you who don't know we that well, I LOVE DRUGS! No I am not a drug addict, although I do frequent an ibuprofen for a headache. But I love to learn, talk and educate on drugs.

This is something I have wanted to do for a while, do a short post on a drug I find interesting or want to learn more about, to share with you and help me reinforce the information I'm learning! It's funny working in a retail pharmacy almost everyday there is at least one drug that 'stands out', a drug we see an odd increase in prescriptions for. Today we got prescription after prescription for metronidazole.

Generic Name: metronidazole Brand Name: Flagyl
Pharmacological Class: amebicide, antibiotic, antiprotozoal
Use: Treatment of susceptible anaerobic bacterial and protozoal infections
Dosage forms: Tablets, Extended Release Tablets, Capsules, Inject-able Solution, Vaginal gel and Topical: cream, lotion, gel.
Important Counseling Info: Alcoholic beverages should be avoided for at least 1 day to 3 days after discontinuing.

Why I choose this drug: It was fresh in my mind, due to the an increase number of scripts. A lot of drugs have an 'avoid alcohol warning' but this is no joke for metronidazole. Drinking alcohol in any quantity(even OTC cough syrups) while taking metronidazole will make one violently ill, with symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. This interaction with alcohol is the similar to a drug called Antabuse, which is used to treat alcoholism, because of the violent vomiting.

That is metronidazole in nut shell! I don't know how long I will keep this up, but I'm going to try while I'm on summer break. Feel free to ignore these post if you are not interested, but you might just learn something!

Toy Story 3

I absolutely LOVED this movie and encourage everyone to go see it!

I was excepting the target audience to be 3 to 12 years old. But seemed to me, the movie was made for me, my age, for the kids that loved the original Toy Story! Barbie and Ken cracked me up! Old Andy's voice didn't seem old enough to me, but other than that I don't have any complaints. You may want to bring some tissues, I didn't need any but my Mom bawled like a baby and my littlest sister Holly teared up a bit. Treat yourself to a good, clean and hilarious movie!

Hooray for Max!!!!

I don't think I have given enough information on Max, so todays blog is dedicated to him. Today he gave me call to tell me on his way to his first service. It was a little later than he usually get started, so I asked him why so late, he said "I had to meet with the bosses this morning", "what about", "They have asked me to do lawn care and gave me 1% raise." Max has worked for Preventative Pest Control for almost two years, since we got married and moved to Albuquerque. Since starting out at there at the bottom of the totem pole, Max got a termite certified and has gotten several commission raises. Max is now one of the highest paid techs in less than two years. WAY TO GO HONEY!!!

I'm not at surprised at this, Max has always been a hard worker. It is so nice to see Max's employer notices, appreciates and rewards all his hard work. In fact when Max couldn't work for 3 month because of his broken leg, his bosses let him work as a secretary and put him on salary so he was still making what he usually would. That was a huge help because Max makes all the money and I could work more because of school.

Speaking of school, Max has also been super supportive as I have been stress beyond belief with school. Max has been making dinners, doing the laundry, and most of all putting up with my stressed out mood swings! I love my husband, he is amazing!!!!

It's been six months!

Yes Max and I are still alive and doing well. The second semester of pharmacy has definitely been much harder. It seems like there is test after test after test, but its April which means only FIVE MORE WEEKS and I don't have to think about school until August!

So to update: Max's leg is getting better, he still isn't up to 100%, his ankle will swells in the evening when he gets home from working on it all day. Lucky for us we always have ice packs available thanks to a ice pack recipe provided by Max's physical therapist.

Ice Pack: 4 parts water to 1 part isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, we put it into two zip lock bags keep from leaking.

Max and I are still looking for a house, we have made several offers on different house and it seems like nothing is working out. We did take a break from house hunting while Max wasn't working, it didn't seem very responsible buying a house while not working. We do have an offer on a house in Albuquerque close to my parents house, it's a short sale but we are supposed to hear more on the house tomorrow!

This summer I will have a four week internship, and I have arrange to do them in Utah, so I'll in Utah from May 24 to June 18 working (for free) at Dick's in Layton. I'm super excited to visit friend and family in Utah especial my two nieces and nephew.

Max and I had to get my dad a present, so we gave him a riddle which lead him out side. Max gotTobyKeith's Greatest hits and I think it hasn't been taken out of the CD player yet.

Ok this is the cutest thing ever... around Christmas time Rafe started making this face a lot and we realized she was doing it when ever we talked about Uncle Max or when he was looking at Max. It turns out Rafe was trying to mimic the crooked smile Max would make when he saw Rafe. So now we just have "what does uncle Max do" and he responds with this face.

In Feb Max and I, along with my two best pharmacy friend and their significant others went to MONSTER JAM!!! This is my friend Adam and his wife Kelly. Max and I were the designated drivers.

Max had his post-op doctor's appointment today we got to check out the newest X-rays, had his staples and sutures and got a HOT green cast! They said the wound looked really good. Max has three to four more weeks off his foot, then hopefully he will be in a walking cast.

Max broke his leg is three spots rolling an ATV on Halloween. Yesterday (Tuesday) Max had surgery to insert a plate and a couple of screws!!! The surgery went well, it took a lot longer than they expected and Max is really swollen and in a lot of pain, But he is doing well.

I LOVE FALL IN ALBUQUERQUE!!! The number one reason is... THE BALLOON FIESTA, yes the fiesta is back which mean I have to post more pictures. Sadly we didn't have anyone here visiting to enjoy it with us. Max and I got up at 4:30 this morning to go to the 7:00 am Mass Ascension, over two hundred balloons took off from the field this morning. Unlike other balloon festivals here in Albuquerque the fiesta goers get to walk on the field, and get up close and personal with the balloons. We had several balloons launch just in front of us and fly over our heads. This has been my third Balloon Fiesta, and it is still just as exciting as the first time. Max and I are hoping to close on our house at the end of the month, so we will have a guest room next year. We would LOVE to host ANY friends or family who want to experience the Balloon Fiesta!!!!

Albuquerque, specifically the downtown and hobos have provided Max and I with an unforgettable first year of marriage. From having the trucks windshield smashed with a rock, aa HBO show filmed in our backyar d, truck broken into/purse stolen, balloon fiesta, a sore Christmas in bed, a new nephew, finding ourselves in the middle of gun fire, acceptance to Pharm School, and exciting Missionary experiences downtown Albuquerque is the place to go if you need adventure/challenge/excitement in your life! Two weeks shy of living here for a year Max and I are saying Sayonara to the downtown life.

After receiving legal papers notifying us the house we've been renting is being foreclosed and sold to the bank July 30, Max and I packed our stuff, placed it in storage, and moved in with a co-worker/friends of mine Amanda. Amanda has a three bedroom house and lives alone with her two dogs. So Max and I are occupying a bedroom until we can buy our own house. We are hoping to be able to make an offer on a house next month.

I want to give a big shot out to my family!!! THANK YOU so much especially to my Dad to helping Max and I move our stuff in storage and help clean the house!

This morning on 770 KKOB, yes, I listen to talk radio. I'm my Mother's(and Father's) daughter!!! Bob Clark (who I really don't like but I need my news fix, it's hard to not have a TV) was interviewing Eric Draper a photographer based out of Albuquerque. Eric Draper also served as Special Assistant to the President and White House Photographer for President George W. Bush. Eric spoke about his time serving along side the President, we was there right along side the President on September 11, 2001, his pictures were the only documentations of who attended the meetings with the President that day, because it was so chaotic. He traveled with the President to meet with world leaders, spent time with the Bushes at their Texas Ranch. As I listen to Eric talk about his experiences in the White House, it seem to me he genuinely enjoyed his time with the President, so I decided to check out his website www.ericdraperphotography.com I really enjoyed looking through his pictures and so I share it with you!!!

Andersen Up Date

Yes we are still alive!!! Between finals, visitors from Utah and Florida, getting ready for girls camp, I haven't had a chance to blog. Also my purse was stolen 5 days after the shooting , my camera was in it, so I've been pictureless!!!

Max and I both had good birthdays, Max got a Blackberry (he was in desperate need of a new phone), two hat and gift certificates to the movies. All of which we opened early. For my birthday I got a full length mirror (I've wanted for a while!!!) A hand chopper thingy, and a plastic container to make my first geocache!!! I haven't quite gotten to making it yet we need to find a good place for it first. We each got some cash that went to the purchase of a new tent!!! OH! I almost for got.... I also got ROCKBAND 2 as a early Birthday present (not a good thing to buy a week before finals)

Jessica (Max's little sister) and Jordan are engaged!!!!! Jordan proposed May 3, Jessie's birthday day she said yes then they drove ALL night to Albuquerque to visit Max and I and to Jordan's Dad who is in Santa Fe. We had a lot of fun playing ROCKBAND 2, celebrating by going to out for sushi, visited El Morro, Jess and Jordan also went to the ABQ Zoo. Unfortunately I forgot to get pictures from Jess before she left.

My Paw paw Tom and Granny drove from Flordia to visit our family, one person in particular, Rafe their first great grandson. While they were here was drove up to Durango and visited Mesa Verdi National Park, home of the Peublo clift dwellings. I was able to get some picture from Becca's camera.

I GOT IN!!!!

I got my acceptance letter saturday, I was working at Smith's Max called me with the good news! I was so happy!!! I think the Pharmacist I was working with must have gotten sick of me saying "I'm so happy!!!" I probably said it 100 times! It took all my strength to wait to tell my family. Max and I invited them over for Sunday dinner and we told them. So now I can tell you! I'm so happy to have finally gotten in. This is something I have wanted for a while now! Thank you for all your thoughts and prays!!!

Preaching the Gospel Can Be Pretty Dangerous!!!

Max and I were called to be Ward Missionaries, a calling I've really been excited for! Unfortunately the few time the Missionaries have called us to go on splits I've always had school or work so Max has gone alone. I was really excited when they called last night asking us to go with them to teach a women by the name of Mary, Sunday evening.

We met the Elders at a gas station in the south valley near Mary's house. For those of you not familiar with Albuquerque, the south valley is the "West Valley" or "West Ogden" of Utah, its the "scary" part of town. We followed the Elders to the house. We taught Mary for about an hour, about Jesus Christ, the Atonement, the Restoration and The Book of Mormon. Max and I had the chance to bare testimonies. We had a good time, the Spirit was there, and the Elders made an appointment to meet again Wednesday.

As we were walking down the driveway, Elder Innes told us "you guys rocked it in there!" We laughed and made small talk. Just before we made it to the street we heard yelling in Spanish. I made some smart comment about how much I love Albuquerque. Then POP POP POP, we could see the flashes of light in the darkness as a gun began to fire. The Elders and I stood in SHOCK that someone was shooting a gun only 40-50 feet away from us. Max yelled "GET DOWN, GET DOWN" As the four of us ran (not so easy in hit heels, I'm wearing flats from now on) and crouched behind the truck, 4 or 5 hispanic men ran past us. A white car drove to the end of the street, picked them up and it was over. Max thinks 6 to 8 shot were fired, I honestly had no clue, I just couldn't believe it was happening.

All I can say is preaching the Gospel can be pretty dangerous! I feel watched over and blessed that no one was hurt! I told Max I don't think there is anyway we can ever forget our first year of marriage because I was been quite eventful, most of which is thanks to Albuquerque!!!

Max and I have drove to Utah last Wednesday evening got in at 2:30 AM to attend his friend/ old roomate Cody Storey's Wedding in the Logan Temple. This has been a great chance to visit with Max's family. Since we didn't really get a chance during Christmas Break.

Since I didn't post at all last month here is what we have been up to...

In honor of living in downtown Albuquerque next to the homeless shelter. One Sunday we had Hobo dinners. I love Hobo dinners!!! I can't believe we waited this long to have them! We tried to look like hobos as much as possible.

Our Valentines Day was pretty mellow I had to work 10 hours so I didn't really feel like going on a date. We went to Tyler and Stephanie's house for chocolate fountain. Max had a beautiful bouquet of lilies(my favorite flower) sent to work!!! They smelt so good! And a lot of the old folks that came into the Pharmacy told me I'd better hold onto a husband like that! I think I will as long as he keeps sending me lilies!

Sorry we haven't posted for a while!!! Between school, work and church I haven't had a chance to sit down and write anything.

Update: for anyone who hear a week after our accident I got a summons to appear in court for careless driving. So we had to drive 3 hours(passed were we wrecked) to Aztec NM on Jan 19 to plead not guilty. Then again on Monday to actually to appear before the judge. My case got throw out so I'm no longer a careless driver!!!! I've got to go to school but I have another post coming on my new found love!!!

Top Three Things We've Accomplished During The Winter Break

A side from being sore from our Christmas Eve adventure Max and I have gotten a lot accomplished during our break!

3. We finally got the majority of your thank you cards sent.

I had to start all over again because I had all the Thank you cards in the truck to work of on our drive up to Utah. Needless to say there are a bunch of thank you cards in the snow in the middle of now where New Mexico!

2. I've started three craft projects and haven't finished any of them

1. We've Beat Video Games!!!! Our Christmas present was an XBOX 360 and sense we had a lot of "lounge around time" this Christmas we got a lot accomplished!!!

First Max beat Call of Duty with some "back sit playing" help by Mo. Second we together beat Halo. Third together beat Lego: Indiana Jones

Max and I had a very eventful Christmas Eve!!! We woke up at 4am and loaded the truck up with our luggage and Christmas Presents for family and friend we were going to visit in Utah. I took the first driving shift, Max has a harder time waking up than I do. After about an hour and a half we were on NM-550, the roads were a little icy but there were ruts in the ice from the other cars. As I was driving I had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude come over me, so I began to say a prayer, expressing thanks for all of the loved one I have in my life. I gave thanks for my wonderful husband and his family and for my family. As soon as I was done saying my prayer Max woke up. I told him the roads were pretty icy, he asked me if I wanted to pull over so he could drive. I told him I was fine, we then started talking about how to drive on icy roads (not to put of the brakes ect.) Then I felt like I should slow down, so I took my foot of the gas we slowed down to about 40 mph. The road began to turn, as a turned the truck started to fish tail, I thought I was getting it back under control when we slid 180 degrees facing on coming traffic then slid off the road. From what we could tell from the path we made in the snow it looked like the front left tire popped and dug into the snow causing us to roll. then the truck landed on my side on some bushes causing us the roll another 180 degrees landing right side up.

This is the view from the road. It's kind of hard to tell but you can see the front tire tracks staring on the left of this picture, in the middle of the picture you can see some dirt snow mix, that is were the we first rolled, the dark bushes is were we hit up-side-down and all the presents landed.
You can see all the windows on myside and the rear shattered. I'm suprised my face didn't get cut.
It might be hard to see but the roof were I was sitting was smashed in. If Max had been sitting there I think we would be looking at more serious injury
Here you can see the front tire is popped and large cunchs of the rims were gone.A side from a lot of stiff muscles and a few cuts Max and I are okay! I'm really sorry that we couldn't make it up to Utah for Christmas. I can't help but feel a little frustuated or confused as to why this happened when we were trying to be with family for Christmas and for our newest little niece Madelaine's Blessing. But I don't know that if I hadn't slowed down or if Max was drive(he probably would have been going much faster than me) than things could have been much different. Even though it totally stinks that we couldn't be in Utah this Christmas and several presents got distroyed, We are alive and for the most part healthy!

Max says: I know that I would have been driving faster than Maureen was just because that is how I am. One funny thing was when the tow truck driver came he told me that he hates showing up to accidents that have a guys truck involved because he knows how men get all sentimental about the truck.

Why are people mean?!?

An Angry Post!!!! Okay here's the deal... I don't get it! Why are people mean? Why is it that people have the desire hurt or upset other? Why do they get pleasure or joy out of this? And is it really joy they feel?

What is it that brings on these questions, you may ask. Well I'll tell you. Wednesday I came home from school around 4:30 to discover that between 12pm and 4:30 someone (probably a hobo we made mad by not giving money) picked up a rather large rock and threw it at the windshield of our truck.

I just don't get it. We haven't done anything to anyone to deserve this. I don't really understand how anyone could do this and be happy about it. They didn't try to break in, just smash the window. Max and I are actually laughing at whoever did this' face because we had a large crack in it already and were planning on replacing it the next day. So the insurance covered it because it was vandalism instead of us paying for it to get replaced. So it turns out to be a blessing... perhaps paying tithing does pay off!

Fun in Albquerque

It's hard to find fun in Albuquerque when you are a poor married couple!!! Between watching almost every movie my parent owe, and playing The Incredibles on the gamecube, or playing battleship, Max and I decided to get out and do something fun requiring little money! So we bought some bullets and drove out to the west mesa to shoot at stuff. We drove west on Southern Blvd forever to a right at a burnt old abandoned truck, drove past an old dishwasher and left at a toren couch. (if you're from New Mexico this is pretty funny because this could be anywhere in the west mesa) We brought a moving box and some rodent tagets(all of which brought home with use---"toss no mass") silly because there were plenty of broken bottles, dresseres, kitchen sink ect. to shoot at. We had a lot of fun it had been a while since I had shoot a gun. Max showed off his rifle shooting abilities.

I'm pretty proud of my little rodent target... he's not going to be running around anymore!!!

The Balloon Fiesta

By best friends Kenna and my sister-in-law Jessica flew down from Utah to visit Max and I and for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta! They flew in on a Friday I pick them up at the airport at 10:30 but I had a physics test( which I got an A-) so they had to hangout on campus for a little bit. Fortunately, Becca didn’t have a class so she was able to entertain them. After we went back to our house and did a little hobo watching. I think Jessica was a little worried about sleeping here that night after seeing all the strange hobos walking around our house.

The next Morning we went to the Mass Ascension. This is about an hour or two were tons of balloon blow up and take off. This was my first time and I have to say it is pretty awesome!!!! I think Kenna and Jessica thought the same!

The next afternoon we went to the Balloon Glow, here they have balloons lined up in row with space in between for people to walk. At dusk the announcer counts down from ten and on one all the balloonist first fire their balloons for an “all glow”. Its really need to see all the colors from the balloons.

The girls were really lucky they came when they did. I kept trying to get them to come the following weekend but it didn’t work out with their schedules. The following weekend was really windy and most of the balloon events were canceled.

The House

Max and I have moved into a house in downtown Albuquerque. We are two buildings north of a rescue mission around meal times there is a mass migration of hobos in front of our house. It gives us a lot of entertainment. Hobos with squeaky wheeled shopping carts or holding canes they don’t need walking around talking quite loudly to themselves, it’s a lot of fun!!! Yes all the windows are barred! We have a total of five locks to get through before we can get into your house!

Our front room, with our $10 Love seat my Mom got us from someone in her ward! THANKS MOM!!! Otherwise we would be sitting on our kitchen table chairs trying to watch movies!!! Ohh Max looks kind of silly because he was getting up to see what I was doing outside, when I walked in and snapped this picture!

Lighting and Thunder like having a whole backward to pee and poo in. They love barking at Hobos almost as much as we like to watch them! One drawback, Thunder likes to howl when she hears police sirens, which I always thought was kind of cute, but now that we live downtown there are sirens going off all the time, 3 in the morining :(

Eating our first meal in our house, beanie weenies, and yes we are eating out of the same bowl!!! Scary looking I know keep in mind we had been movie and unpacking ALL DAY!!!

September 8^th our one month anniversary, when ever I complain that Max doesn’t ever buy me flowers he always says you never buy me the eatable bouquets. So I thought I would be cute and get him one for our anniversary… I know it’s kind of lame, but I thought it would be a good surprise. Max got home late from a movie he went to with my brother so when he got home I was in bed. I asked him to get me a drink of water, when he came back in he said, “Was I supposed to get you something?”

Max had nothing to add!

The Move!

The night before we left we went out to TGIF with some of Max and my’s friends.

Afterward Ian, Alison, and Telina came over to say bye. Don’t we have a cute niece and nephew.

The morning we left for New Mexico we had breakfast with Jessica and Kenna at Doug and Emmys Café. When we were ordering Jess asked “How big are the scones”? I replied “As big as your face.” She thought I was joking.

Our drive from Utah to New Mexico was pretty uneventful except for a man driving wrecklessly in front of us. We call 911 to report him but they were taking too long to get there so we helped to pull him over. We found out that the man was a diabetic and his blood sugar was low so I gave him some gum and Max called for an ambulance.

Oh... and when we were about 40 minutes from my parents house Max got pulled over for speeding. It was pretty funny because about 10 secs before he saw the cop's lights I said, "WOW Max, we are making pretty good time for pulling a trailer and having the dogs."

Honeymoon

Max and I had a slightly disappointing honeymoon due to a staled cold front hanging out over Florida. We stayed at a Marriott timeshare in Orlando provided by Max's sister and brother-in-law Jen and Brandon (THANK YOU). Our room was really nice it had a full kitchen, washer and dryer, HUGE jacuzzi tub, and a king size memory foam bed(which I now want!!!). Our first night there after we got unpacked an settled in, Max and I went and a little adventure trying to find a Wal-Mart to buy groceries. After a 25 minute drive and accidentally taking a toll road we finally found it, and it was PACKED, busier than the Layton Wal-Mart at 11:50 Saturday night!

The next day we decide to try to relax and recover from the wedding. Later that afternoon we went to Cyprus Gardens, Florida's first amusement park. It was about Lagoon quality rides, I remembered it being much more fun as a kid! They have some roller coasters, water skiing show, a southern plantation and gardens, and a water park. One of my favorite things as a little girl were the "Southern Belles" around the park dressed up.

Our Third day we went to Disney World!!! The first stop was to get Just Married buttons and the hat shop to buy the bride and groom Mickey ears. After a little protest Max put on his button (he thought is was lame). But Max refused to wear the ears, we had a little argument. So our day started off not so great, but once Max stopped being stubborn we had fun!!! We started off in Tomorrow Land after going to the Buzz Lightyear, Laugh Floor, and the Stitch rides we got in line for The Transportation of Tomorrow ride. The guy at the beginning of the ride stopped Max and I because we were wear the Just Married buttons and asked use where we were from, how long we had been married, gave us some words of advise and two fast passes to be used on any ride it was pretty sweet.
Every where we went the workers told us "congratulations", I liked all the attention. A few hours later we made our way to It's a Small World, a women pulled Max and I a side and asked us where we were from, it turned out she lived in Layton for a while and her kids went to Northridge. Then she asked us if we want to be honorary cruise directors or something like that. So they made a slightly embarrassing announcement for everyone in line to hear and we got to stand in the tower and wave to everyone as their boat left. It was pretty fun, again I don't mind getting attention. Then when we were done sending off the boat the women gave us four more fast passes, which made all that worth it to Max. The rest of the day went well, we had fun. Max smoozed a worker into giving us free ice cream. Max's favorite ride was space mountain, I have too many to say a favorite!!!

The fourth day was slept in, had breakfast/lunch at the Waffle House. I had Max try grits but he didn't like them which meant more for me! Then we went to Gatorland!!! It was fun to see the gators all over the place. A large section of the park was closed off so that was stinky, we watched a show. Max got to hold a gator and I had a boa constrictor around my neck. unfortunately I don't have that picture. We didn't spend too much time at Gatorland because we were still pooped from the lack of sleep from the few nights prior so we went back to the hotel and I took a three hour nap!!! I don't think I've ever napped that long. Then we went to the pool area and swam for a while. For dinner we went out for sushi it was really good, they messed up on our order so they gave us some extra rolls we were STUFFED!!!!

The fifth day we drove to Plant City to get some beach stuff from my Paw Paw and Granny, when we got there they took us out to lunch at a sea food restaurant right next to Tampa Bay. For an appetizer we got fried gator, it was pretty darn good. It tasted like chew chicken. After we went to the Fort De Soda Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. It was a disaster, it had rained all day it stopped when we got there. I was so excited to take Max to the beach for the first time, but because of the stationary front over Florida there was an unusual rip tide which brought in a bunch of crap from the ocean floor. As soon as we set down our stuff Max grabbed the boggie board and walked into the ocean. He got freaked out by these round squishy prune shaped ocean creatures that covered the ocean floor. We swam for about an hours but another storm blew in. As we were running back to the car because it started raining on us my favorite flip flops I had since 12th grade broke while I was chasing after Max's hat that blew off his head. It was a big ordeal.

The sixth day we got up early to go to the Orlando Temple, we got there late to do a session but we were able to do some sealings. The sealer could seal in six different languages, a couple we did work for were from Italy so he did the sealing in Italian. that was really neat. After we drove back to Plant City to stay the night there. My Paw Paw and Granny took us on a tour of the cubian city, Ybor City. Supposedy the cubian mafia used to run the city. After we went back for some of Granny's southern home cooking!!!

The seventh day we woke up early to go caneoing down the Hillsborgough River!!! Oh did I mention it was infested with ALLIGATORS!!! Unfortuantely we went so early in the morning that it was too cold for the gators to come out of the water, so we only saw 5 gators. My dad and I had done that trip before and saw over 30 gators. After the caneo trip we had breakfast at IHOP and then it was off to the airport. Our honeymoon was definately one we won't forget!
